How a project runs
- Enquiry. Send the structure as a SMILES string, CAS number or drawing, with the quantity, target purity, data package and deadline. A mutual NDA can be signed first.
- Feasibility. Chemists review the structure, check literature and propose an outline route. We may ask about acceptable salt forms or purity.
- Proposal. You receive a fixed price for a defined deliverable, a timeline and a statement of what happens if the target proves unreachable.
- Synthesis and updates. We report progress at agreed points and raise problems early.
- Delivery. The compound ships with a certificate of analysis and its supporting data.
Characterisation
The data package is agreed before work starts. It typically includes proton NMR, mass spectrometry and HPLC purity, and may add carbon-13 or 2D NMR, high-resolution MS, IR, water by Karl Fischer, residual solvents, specific rotation or chiral HPLC. For labelled compounds, isotopic enrichment is reported. Spectra and chromatograms are supplied as PDF files.
Scale
Impurity and metabolite standards are usually made in tens to hundreds of milligrams. Building blocks and intermediates can run from grams to kilograms. Larger batches are preceded by a smaller demonstration batch so that safety, yield and purification are confirmed before scale-up.
Choosing the right deliverable
It pays to think about how the compound will be used before fixing the specification. An impurity standard for peak identification may need only modest purity and a clean NMR, while a standard used for quantitation needs an assigned assay and water content. Asking for more than you need adds time and cost, so we are happy to discuss the trade-off.

Your structures and project details are shared with our synthesis partner only as far as the work requires, under confidentiality terms. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, compounds made to your specification are supplied only to you.
