Importing chemicals into France
France applies EU REACH and CLP, so any substance imported at 1 tonne or more per year needs registration by the EU importer or by an Only Representative for the Indian manufacturer. SDS and labels must be in French. Active substances destined for medicines need GMP compliance and an EU written confirmation, and ANSM supervises authorised importers. Dangerous goods are packed and declared under IMDG or IATA DGR, and customs clearance requires the importer's EORI number.
