Chemicals shipped to Netherlands

The Netherlands sits at the centre of European chemical logistics. Rotterdam's Botlek and Europoort host refining, petrochemicals and tank storage, Chemelot near Geleen runs polymer and performance materials production, and Delfzijl and Terneuzen add further chemical capacity. Leiden Bio Science Park and other life-science clusters need biochemicals, reference standards and lab reagents, while food ingredient and generic pharmaceutical producers buy APIs, intermediates and solvents. Many Dutch distributors also hold stock for buyers across the EU. Zemixal ships sea freight from Nhava Sheva or Mundra to Rotterdam, Amsterdam or Moerdijk, usually 21 to 27 days in transit. Air cargo to Schiphol or Maastricht Aachen typically takes 3 to 5 days. Every lot is supplied with a COA and a 16-section GHS SDS that downstream customers can rely on.

  5. 2–5 daysImport clearance

Your broker clears the goods against local rules. Chemical oversight: ECHA (EU REACH & CLP).

Indicative door to door by sea: 28–44 days

By air the same journey usually takes 7–15 days from order to delivery.

Importing chemicals into Netherlands

The Netherlands applies EU REACH and CLP. Substances imported at 1 tonne or more per year need registration by the EU importer or by an Only Representative for the Indian manufacturer, and labels and SDS must be in Dutch. Active substances for medicines require GMP compliance and an EU written confirmation, with the IGJ and CBG-MEB overseeing authorised importers. Dangerous goods are packed and declared under IMDG or IATA DGR, and customs clearance requires the importer's EORI number.

Questions

Shipping to Netherlands

Can Dutch distributors get documents suited to onward EU sale?
Every lot ships with a COA and a 16-section GHS SDS that include the classification and hazard data a distributor needs for resale within the EU. If you need a particular label format or language version for your own customers, raise it in the enquiry so it can be agreed before the order is confirmed.
Can we order full containers of solvents to Rotterdam?
Yes. HPLC and GC solvents, along with bulk process solvents, can ship in full container loads to Rotterdam or Moerdijk. Flammable liquids move under IMDG rules with the required dangerous goods declaration. Send the volumes and grades through the RFQ page for a container quote.
Is there a minimum order for Leiden research groups?
Small packs are available for many lab reagents, biochemicals and reference standards, and they travel by express courier. This means a research group can order a few grams without buying bulk. Add the items to the quote panel and we confirm stock and delivery time.
