Chemicals shipped to Canada

Canada's chemical demand runs from oil sands to life sciences. The Alberta Industrial Heartland near Edmonton and Sarnia's chemical valley in Ontario host petrochemical and refining operations, mining and metals producers need inorganic chemicals and assay reagents, and pulp and paper and agricultural sectors add steady demand. Generic and biotech pharmaceutical companies in the Greater Toronto Area, Montreal and Vancouver buy APIs, impurity reference standards and lab reagents, and university and life-science research groups order biochemicals in small lots. Zemixal ships sea freight from Nhava Sheva or Mundra to Vancouver, Prince Rupert, Montreal or Halifax, with transit of about 30 to 42 days. Air cargo to Toronto Pearson, Montreal or Vancouver usually takes 4 to 6 days. Every lot comes with a COA and a 16-section GHS SDS.

Importing chemicals into Canada

Under CEPA 1999, imported substances must be on the Domestic Substances List or notified to Environment and Climate Change Canada and Health Canada under the New Substances Notification Regulations. Hazardous products supplied to workplaces need WHMIS 2015 SDS and labels in English and French. APIs require a Drug Establishment Licence held by the Canadian importer and GMP evidence for the foreign site. Precursors fall under the Precursor Control Regulations, and customs data can be supplied on a Canada Customs Invoice or commercial invoice.

Questions

Shipping to Canada

Do you supply bilingual SDS for WHMIS 2015?
We supply a 16-section GHS SDS in English with each lot, which aligns with WHMIS 2015 content. Canadian workplaces also need French versions of SDS and labels, so tell us in your enquiry if you need help with that and we confirm what can be provided.
Which port is best for a buyer in Ontario?
Montreal and Halifax on the east coast serve Ontario and Quebec well, with rail links inland. Vancouver and Prince Rupert suit western Canada. Sea transit from India is about 30 to 42 days, and we quote CFR, CIF or delivered terms to the port or site you choose.
Can mining operations in Canada order assay reagents in bulk?
Yes. Lab reagents and inorganic chemicals used in assay and processing are available in bulk packs. Send the list through the RFQ page and we quote sea freight to the most practical port, including IMDG documentation where products are dangerous goods.
