IUPAC Name
The systematic name of a compound built according to rules set by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry. It describes the parent chain or ring, the substituents and their positions, and stereochemistry where relevant, so the structure can be drawn from the name alone. Trade and trivial names are often shorter, but IUPAC names remove ambiguity.
