Pharmacopoeia
An official book of quality standards for medicines and their ingredients, with legal status in the countries that adopt it. Each monograph defines a substance and sets tests and limits for identity, purity and assay, while general chapters describe methods. Major examples are the USP-NF, the European, British, Indian and Japanese Pharmacopoeias.
