Importing chemicals into Iceland
Iceland applies EU REACH and CLP through the EEA Agreement. A substance imported at 1 tonne or more per year must be registered by the importer or by an Only Representative, and SDS and labels are expected in Icelandic. Medicinal active substances follow EEA GMP rules under the Icelandic Medicines Agency. Indian-origin goods that meet the rules can claim India–EFTA TEPA preferences when a valid proof of origin is provided. Dangerous goods must be declared under IMDG or IATA.
