Questions

Buying for textiles, dyes and leather

What purity of H-acid is typical for reactive dye production?
Commercial H-acid is usually sold on an assay basis, often around 80 to 90 percent as the monosodium salt, with the balance mostly water and inorganic salt. We quote the assay and moisture from the current lot so you can calculate the charge correctly.
Can you supply small lots for a colour lab?
Yes. Reagent and laboratory grades of naphthols, amines and salts are available in gram to kilogram packs from Lab Reagents, which suits shade matching and recipe development before you scale up with industrial grades.
Is hydrogen peroxide shipped at full strength?
Peroxide for bleaching is normally traded at 35 or 50 percent. Both are oxidisers that need vented containers and careful stowage. We recommend the concentration based on your dosing system and the freight route.
