HPLC Grade
A grade of solvent made for use as an HPLC mobile phase. Besides a high assay, it is tested for UV absorbance at specified wavelengths, water content, residue on evaporation and particles, and is usually filtered through a 0.2 µm membrane. These controls reduce baseline noise, ghost peaks and column blockage in chromatographic work.
