Karl Fischer Titration
A titration method that determines water content specifically, based on the reaction of water with iodine and sulfur dioxide in the presence of a base and an alcohol. Volumetric titration suits samples with more than about 0.1 percent water, while coulometric titration measures ppm levels. Unlike loss on drying, it does not count other volatile substances as water.
