pH
A logarithmic measure of the acidity or basicity of an aqueous solution, defined as the negative base-ten logarithm of the hydrogen ion activity. A pH of 7 is neutral at 25 °C, lower values are acidic and higher values are basic. Each unit represents a tenfold change in hydrogen ion activity. pH is measured with a calibrated glass electrode.
