Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
A standardised hazard document, arranged in 16 sections under the GHS, that describes a substance's hazards, safe handling, storage, exposure controls, first aid, fire fighting, disposal and transport classification. Employers use it to assess workplace risk and carriers use section 14 for dangerous goods declarations. It differs from a certificate of analysis, which reports quality results for one lot rather than general safety information.
