Homogeneous catalysis depends on the right metal paired with the right ligand. This sub-category supplies precatalysts, photocatalysts and chiral auxiliaries used in modern synthesis. Products include (2-Butenyl)chloropalladium dimer, the photoredox catalyst (Ir[dF(CF3)ppy]2(dtbpy))PF6, chiral auxiliaries such as (R)-(−)-4-Phenyl-2-oxazolidinone, chiral building blocks like (+)-Dimethyl L-tartrate, and (1R)-(−)-Menthyl chloroformate for chiral derivatisation.

For catalysts, metal content and the absence of decomposed species matter most, because inactive palladium black or ligand oxides lower yields. Many complexes are air or light sensitive, so packaging and storage are part of quality. For chiral auxiliaries, enantiomeric purity is the critical figure, and the COA reports it for each lot.

Catalysts are packed in small vials under inert gas and shipped promptly to limit time in transit. Each lot comes with a COA and SDS. If you need a specific ligand-metal combination or a larger quantity, send details through our quotation form.

Metal Catalysts & Ligands: questions buyers ask

What is the iridium photocatalyst used for?
(Ir[dF(CF3)ppy]2(dtbpy))PF6 absorbs visible blue light and reaches a long-lived excited state that can oxidise or reduce organic substrates. It is widely used in photoredox reactions, often combined with nickel catalysis for cross-coupling. Its strong oxidising power in the excited state makes it suitable for demanding transformations.
How should palladium precatalysts be stored?
Store them cold, dry and under inert gas, protected from light. Allyl palladium dimers and many phosphine complexes slowly decompose in air, often turning dark as palladium black forms. Weigh them quickly or in a glovebox, and check colour and performance if the material has been stored for a long time.
Why use an oxazolidinone chiral auxiliary?
Evans-type oxazolidinones attached to a carboxylic acid control the face of attack in alkylation, aldol and other reactions, giving products with high diastereoselectivity. The auxiliary is removed afterwards and can often be recovered. They remain a reliable choice when catalytic asymmetric methods are not yet established.
