Not every analytical task needs chromatography-grade solvent. Extractions, titrations in non-aqueous media, sample dilution and UV-free wet chemistry run perfectly well on AR, GR and ACS grades, at a lower cost. This sub-category lists those reagent-grade solvents, including 1,4-Dioxan GR 99%+, 1-Methyl 2-pyrrolidone GR 99%+, 1,2-Dichlorobenzene GR 99%+ and 1-Butanol GR 99%+.
Reagent grades are specified by assay, water content, residue on evaporation and limits for named impurities such as acids, aldehydes or peroxides. ACS grade follows published American Chemical Society specifications, while AR and GR grades follow manufacturer limits that are often comparable. Pick the grade your SOP or pharmacopoeia names, and use HPLC grade only where the method needs it.
Packs are mostly 500 mL to 2.5 L glass bottles, with larger metal or HDPE containers for routine users. Solvents that form peroxides are supplied stabilised unless stated otherwise. Each lot travels with its COA and SDS.
