When a solvent is used by the drum rather than the bottle, the buying criteria change. Price per kilogram, consistent quality between deliveries and reliable packaging take over from trace specifications. This sub-category covers industrial and bulk solvents, including 1,1,1-Trichloroethane, 1,2,4-Trichlorobenzene, 1,2-Dichloroethane and 1,1,2,2-Tetrachloroethane, offered in technical and puriss qualities.

Industrial buyers should state the minimum assay, colour and water content their process tolerates, as well as any restricted impurities. Several chlorinated solvents are controlled under environmental or ozone-layer rules in some countries, so check local restrictions before ordering. We confirm the regulatory status of each solvent at the quotation stage.

Bulk solvents are filled in UN-rated steel or HDPE drums and IBCs, palletised for container loading. We quote FOB Nhava Sheva or Mundra, or CIF to your port, and can combine several solvents in one container. Every shipment includes a COA and SDS for each lot. Send volumes and destination through our RFQ form.

Industrial & Bulk Solvents: questions buyers ask

Can several bulk solvents share one container?
Yes, provided their hazard classes can be stowed together under the IMDG Code. Most flammable and chlorinated solvents can travel together, while oxidisers or strong acids need separation. We plan the load plan when quoting, and a mixed full container often cuts freight per drum compared with separate shipments.
Are any chlorinated solvents restricted for import?
Some, such as 1,1,1-trichloroethane, are controlled under the Montreal Protocol and may need licences or be banned for certain uses. Others fall under national chemical or precursor rules. Restrictions differ by country, so tell us the destination and intended use, and we will flag any permit needs before you place an order.
How do you prevent contamination in reused drums?
We fill bulk solvents into new or professionally reconditioned drums that are checked for cleanliness before filling. Dedicated drums are used where the product is sensitive to cross-contamination. Each drum is sealed, labelled with lot number and GHS information, and the COA matches the lot shipped.
