Spectroscopy, NMR & Specialty Grade Solvents
Some techniques are more demanding than chromatography. UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy need solvents that are transparent at short wavelengths. NMR uses deuterated solvents to remove the solvent signal. Oligonucleotide synthesis needs very dry acetonitrile, and electronics manufacturing needs very low metal content. This sub-category groups those specialist grades, such as Acetonitrile for DNA 99.5%, Acetonitrile-D3 99.8%, 1,4-Dioxan scintillation grade and Acetone electronic grade 99.5%+.
For each grade, check the figure that matters for your technique. That means transmittance at the cut-off for spectroscopy, isotopic enrichment and water for NMR, water in ppm for DNA synthesis, and metal ions in ppb for electronics. Our listings state the grade, and the COA reports the measured values.
Deuterated solvents come in sealed ampoules or septum bottles, and dry grades are packed under inert gas. Store them tightly closed and away from moisture. Express shipping is available for small packs.
