APIs and medicines require NMRA registration and an import licence, so the importer should have both in place before ordering. Precursor chemicals are controlled by the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board, and some chemicals also need an import control licence from the Department of Imports and Exports Control. The Central Environmental Authority covers environmental matters. To claim a tariff concession, tell us whether you will use the India–Sri Lanka FTA, SAFTA or APTA so we issue the correct certificate of origin. Dangerous goods follow IMDG or IATA rules.

Questions

Solvents (HPLC & GC) for Sri Lanka

Do you ship HPLC & GC solvents to Sri Lanka?
Yes. We ship by sea to Colombo and Hambantota, by air cargo or by express courier depending on quantity and urgency. Every lot carries a COA and a 16-section GHS SDS.
Which documents come with a HPLC & GC solvents shipment to Sri Lanka?
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of analysis and SDS as standard, plus the bill of lading or air waybill and a certificate of origin. Anything specific to Central Environmental Authority / NDDCB (precursors) is agreed with you at quote stage.
How long does delivery to Sri Lanka take?
Allow 3–6 days for ocean transit or 1–3 days by air, plus packing, export clearance and import clearance. The timeline on this page shows each stage.
Which solvent grade should I use for LC-MS rather than HPLC-UV?
LC-MS methods need solvents with very low metal ion and non-volatile residue content, because sodium and potassium adducts and background ions show up in the mass spectrum. HPLC-UV methods care mainly about UV cut-off and particle content. Choose LC-MS grade for mass detection and gradient HPLC grade for UV work to balance cost and performance.
How should opened bottles of HPLC solvent be stored?
Keep bottles tightly capped, away from light and at room temperature, and avoid topping up reservoirs with fresh solvent over old. Acetonitrile and methanol absorb moisture and pick up contaminants from the air, and tetrahydrofuran can form peroxides once its stabiliser is used up. Date each bottle on opening and follow your lab's in-use period.
