Electronic Grade chemicals
Ultra-high-purity acids, solvents and etchants with metals at ppb or ppt level and controlled particles, for semiconductor and electronics work.
What the grade means
Electronic grade chemicals are purified for semiconductors, displays, solar cells and printed circuit boards. Metals at parts per billion change the electrical behaviour of silicon and particles cause defects in fine features, so the grade sets limits for individual metals, anions and particle counts far below reagent levels and requires cleanroom-compatible containers.
Many products follow SEMI standards, which define purity tiers. Higher tiers carry lower limits, down to parts per trillion. Some producers use names such as VLSI, ULSI or CMOS grade for their own tiers.
Typical specification points
- Assay to narrow limits, for example hydrogen peroxide at 30 to 32 percent.
- Individual metals such as Na, K, Fe, Cu, Al and Ni from 10 ppb down to 10 ppt each.
- Anions in the low ppb to ppm range.
- Particle counts per millilitre above a stated size.
When to choose it
Choose this grade for wafer cleaning, etching, photoresist processing, PCB fabrication and ultra-trace ICP-MS work.
