Dangerous goodsIMDG by sea, IATA DGR by air

Industrial and hazardous chemicals generally need registration or an import permit from Ghana's Environmental Protection Authority. APIs and pharmaceutical raw materials require an FDA Ghana import permit, which the importer should obtain before shipment. Customs declarations are processed through the national single window, so the consignee, HS codes and values on our invoice must match the declaration. Mining reagents are often hazardous, and shipments carrying them must have an IMDG or IATA dangerous goods declaration. There is no India–Ghana trade agreement in force.

Questions

Solvents (HPLC & GC) for Ghana

Can Zemixal deliver solvents (HPLC & GC) to Ghana?
Yes. We ship by sea to Tema and Takoradi, by air cargo or by express courier depending on quantity and urgency. Every lot carries a COA and a 16-section GHS SDS.
Which documents come with a HPLC & GC solvents shipment to Ghana?
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of analysis and SDS as standard, plus the bill of lading or air waybill and a certificate of origin. Anything specific to EPA Ghana (Environmental Protection Authority) is agreed with you at quote stage.
How long does delivery to Ghana take?
Allow 25–35 days for ocean transit or 3–6 days by air, plus packing, export clearance and import clearance. The timeline on this page shows each stage.
Which solvent grade should I use for LC-MS rather than HPLC-UV?
LC-MS methods need solvents with very low metal ion and non-volatile residue content, because sodium and potassium adducts and background ions show up in the mass spectrum. HPLC-UV methods care mainly about UV cut-off and particle content. Choose LC-MS grade for mass detection and gradient HPLC grade for UV work to balance cost and performance.
How should opened bottles of HPLC solvent be stored?
Keep bottles tightly capped, away from light and at room temperature, and avoid topping up reservoirs with fresh solvent over old. Acetonitrile and methanol absorb moisture and pick up contaminants from the air, and tetrahydrofuran can form peroxides once its stabiliser is used up. Date each bottle on opening and follow your lab's in-use period.
