Supplying solvents (HPLC & GC) to Slovakia

By sea, containers and LCL lots take roughly 28–36 days to Hamburg (via rail) and Koper (via rail). Air cargo to Bratislava (BTS) takes 4–6 days, which suits small and urgent packs. The relevant authority is ECHA (EU REACH & CLP). Our export desk lines up the COA, GHS SDS and shipping documents to match. Common grades for this division are HPLC / gradient grade, LC-MS grade, Spectroscopy (UV/IR) grade and GC / headspace grade.

Dangerous goodsIMDG by sea, IATA DGR by air

Slovakia follows EU REACH and CLP. The importer or an Only Representative registers substances imported at 1 tonne or more per year and provides SDS and labels in Slovak. APIs need an EU written confirmation or equivalent GMP standing and an importer authorised by ŠÚKL. Sea cargo arrives via Hamburg or Koper and moves inland by rail, sometimes under a T1 transit document, and much air cargo lands in Vienna before trucking to Bratislava. Dangerous goods follow IMDG or IATA rules.

Questions

Solvents (HPLC & GC) for Slovakia

Do you ship HPLC & GC solvents to Slovakia?
Yes. We ship by sea to Hamburg (via rail) and Koper (via rail), by air cargo or by express courier depending on quantity and urgency. Every lot carries a COA and a 16-section GHS SDS.
Which documents come with a HPLC & GC solvents shipment to Slovakia?
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of analysis and SDS as standard, plus the bill of lading or air waybill and a certificate of origin. Anything specific to ECHA (EU REACH & CLP) is agreed with you at quote stage.
How long does delivery to Slovakia take?
Allow 28–36 days for ocean transit or 4–6 days by air, plus packing, export clearance and import clearance. The timeline on this page shows each stage.
Which solvent grade should I use for LC-MS rather than HPLC-UV?
LC-MS methods need solvents with very low metal ion and non-volatile residue content, because sodium and potassium adducts and background ions show up in the mass spectrum. HPLC-UV methods care mainly about UV cut-off and particle content. Choose LC-MS grade for mass detection and gradient HPLC grade for UV work to balance cost and performance.
How should opened bottles of HPLC solvent be stored?
Keep bottles tightly capped, away from light and at room temperature, and avoid topping up reservoirs with fresh solvent over old. Acetonitrile and methanol absorb moisture and pick up contaminants from the air, and tetrahydrofuran can form peroxides once its stabiliser is used up. Date each bottle on opening and follow your lab's in-use period.
