Supplying solvents (HPLC & GC) to Turkey

By sea, containers and LCL lots take roughly 18–26 days to Ambarlı (Istanbul) and Mersin. Air cargo to Istanbul (IST) takes 2–4 days, which suits small and urgent packs. The relevant authority is KKDIK (Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change). Our export desk lines up the COA, GHS SDS and shipping documents to match. Common grades for this division are HPLC / gradient grade, LC-MS grade, Spectroscopy (UV/IR) grade and GC / headspace grade.

Dangerous goodsIMDG by sea, IATA DGR by air

Turkey's KKDIK regulation mirrors EU REACH. Substances placed on the Turkish market at 1 tonne or more per year must be registered by the Turkish manufacturer, the importer or an Only Representative, with phased deadlines. SDS must be prepared in Turkish by a certified SDS preparer, which the importer usually arranges. APIs and medicines fall under TİTCK, which generally expects GMP evidence for the manufacturing site. Dangerous goods move under IMDG or IATA rules.

Questions

Solvents (HPLC & GC) for Turkey

Do you ship HPLC & GC solvents to Turkey?
Yes. We ship by sea to Ambarlı (Istanbul) and Mersin, by air cargo or by express courier depending on quantity and urgency. Every lot carries a COA and a 16-section GHS SDS.
Which documents come with a HPLC & GC solvents shipment to Turkey?
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of analysis and SDS as standard, plus the bill of lading or air waybill and a certificate of origin. Anything specific to KKDIK (Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change) is agreed with you at quote stage.
How long does delivery to Turkey take?
Allow 18–26 days for ocean transit or 2–4 days by air, plus packing, export clearance and import clearance. The timeline on this page shows each stage.
Which solvent grade should I use for LC-MS rather than HPLC-UV?
LC-MS methods need solvents with very low metal ion and non-volatile residue content, because sodium and potassium adducts and background ions show up in the mass spectrum. HPLC-UV methods care mainly about UV cut-off and particle content. Choose LC-MS grade for mass detection and gradient HPLC grade for UV work to balance cost and performance.
How should opened bottles of HPLC solvent be stored?
Keep bottles tightly capped, away from light and at room temperature, and avoid topping up reservoirs with fresh solvent over old. Acetonitrile and methanol absorb moisture and pick up contaminants from the air, and tetrahydrofuran can form peroxides once its stabiliser is used up. Date each bottle on opening and follow your lab's in-use period.
