APIs for Uganda
The APIs division counts 385 products, and each one can be quoted for delivery to Uganda. In Uganda the strongest demand is from pharmaceutical formulation, food and beverage processing and agro-processing (coffee, dairy, sugar). Regular consignments go to industrial centres such as Kampala, Jinja and Mukono. Typical customers for this division are finished dosage formulators, generic dossier developers and veterinary drug manufacturers.
Supplying APIs to Uganda
By sea, containers and LCL lots take roughly 25–35 days to Mombasa (via road/rail) and Dar es Salaam (via road/lake). Air cargo to Entebbe (EBB) takes 3–5 days, which suits small and urgent packs. The relevant authority is National Drug Authority (NDA). Our export desk lines up the COA, GHS SDS and shipping documents to match. Common grades for this division are IP, BP, USP and Ph. Eur..

Pharma compliance in Uganda
| Authority | National Drug Authority (NDA) |
|---|---|
| Seaports | Mombasa (via road/rail), Dar es Salaam (via road/lake) |
| Airports | Entebbe (EBB) |
| Dangerous goods | IMDG by sea, IATA DGR by air |
Sea cargo is discharged at Mombasa or Dar es Salaam and moves inland under transit bonds, so transit documents must be in order before arrival. Many goods need a UNBS Certificate of Conformity under the pre-export verification programme. The National Drug Authority licenses importers and issues verification for APIs and medicines on each consignment. Controlled precursors and agrochemicals need separate permits, and NEMA covers environmental matters. Dangerous goods follow IMDG rules at sea and regional road rules inland.
