Plant growth regulators control flowering, fruit set, ripening and stress response, and they are used both in crop production and in plant science labs. This sub-category supplies cytokinins, ethylene releasers, inhibitors and related compounds. Products include 6-Benzyl adenine at 98% and 99%+, 2-Chloroethylphosphonic acid (ethephon) as solid and solution, Abscisic acid in practical grade, and 2,3,5-Triiodobenzoic acid, an auxin transport inhibitor.

Research users need high-purity material for tissue culture media and physiology experiments, while formulators buy technical grades to make field products. Solubility and stability differ widely. Cytokinins are often dissolved in dilute alkali, and abscisic acid is light sensitive. Registered agricultural use is governed by national pesticide rules, so check local requirements before formulation.

Products ship in sealed bottles or drums with a COA and SDS. Light-sensitive items travel in opaque packs. Request research and technical grades together through the quote panel if you work across both.

Agrochemicals & Plant Growth Regulators: questions buyers ask

How is 6-benzyladenine used in plant tissue culture?
6-Benzyladenine is a synthetic cytokinin that promotes shoot formation and cell division. In tissue culture media it is combined with an auxin, and the ratio between them decides whether shoots or roots form. Typical concentrations are low, around 0.5 to 5 mg per litre, depending on the species.
What does ethephon do in agriculture?
Ethephon breaks down inside plant tissue to release ethylene, a natural ripening hormone. Growers use it to promote uniform ripening of fruit such as tomatoes and pineapples, to encourage flowering, and to loosen fruit for harvest. Field use requires a registered product and adherence to label rates.
How should abscisic acid be stored?
Store abscisic acid cold, dry and protected from light, as it isomerises and degrades under light exposure. Prepare stock solutions in a small amount of alkali or ethanol, keep them dark and frozen, and use them within the period your protocol allows.
