Cosmetic formulators work with natural materials whose properties vary with source and refining. This sub-category supplies waxes, carrier oils and other raw materials for creams, balms, hair products and polishes. Examples include Bees wax, Carnuba wax in yellow and black grades, cold-pressed Canola oil and Castor oil in several qualities, including a refined grade equivalent to DAB and one equivalent to USP.
Buyers look at melting point, colour, acid value and odour, as these affect texture and appearance of the finished product. Yellow carnauba wax is the purer, lighter grade for cosmetics and food coatings, while darker grades suit industrial polishes. Castor oil grade depends on whether it goes into personal care, pharmaceuticals or technical use.
Waxes ship as flakes or slabs in cartons or bags, and oils in drums or IBCs. Each lot comes with a COA and SDS. Samples are available for formulation trials before bulk orders.
