Alloys and intermetallics combine metals to reach properties that no single element offers, such as wear resistance, conductivity with strength, or high-temperature stability. This sub-category supplies alloy powders, plates, rods and intermetallic compounds. Examples include Copper chromium zirconium (CuCrZr) plate and rod for resistance welding electrodes, Colmonoy 5 and 6 hardfacing powders at 45-105 µm, Chrome carbide powder, Copper tin alloy Cu85Sn15 and Aluminium magnesium silicon alloy powder below 40 µm.

Alloy buyers specify composition, often to a recognised standard, along with form, size and sometimes heat treatment. CuCrZr, for example, is precipitation hardened to combine high conductivity with strength at welding temperatures. Hardfacing powders are graded by particle size to match the spray or welding process, and their hardness depends on boron and carbon content.

  • Copper alloys for electrodes and conductive parts
  • Nickel-based hardfacing powders for wear resistance
  • Carbides and intermetallics for coatings and research

Each order ships with a COA showing composition and, where relevant, particle size. Custom dimensions and compositions can be quoted through the quote panel.

Alloys & Intermetallics: questions buyers ask

Why is CuCrZr used for welding electrodes?
CuCrZr keeps high electrical and thermal conductivity while staying hard and resistant to softening at elevated temperatures. Resistance spot welding electrodes need both properties to pass current efficiently and resist deformation over many welds. The alloy is supplied solution treated and aged to reach its working hardness.
What are Colmonoy 5 and 6 powders used for?
They are nickel-chromium-boron-silicon alloys applied by thermal spray, plasma transferred arc or welding to protect surfaces from wear, corrosion and galling. Colmonoy 6 is harder than Colmonoy 5 because of higher carbon and boron levels. The 45 to 105 µm range suits many spray and welding systems.
Can alloys be supplied to a specific composition?
Many alloys can be made to a requested composition in small batches for research, within the limits of melting and casting practice. Send the target composition, tolerances, form and quantity. We will confirm feasibility and provide a COA with the measured composition for the supplied material.
