Alkali metal compounds range from everyday sodium salts to rare, high-purity caesium and rubidium halides. This sub-category covers inorganic salts and organic acid salts of all five alkali metals. Examples include Cesium acetate 99.9%, Cesium bromide anhydrous beads at 99.999%, Ammonium sodium phosphate, and organic salts such as 1,1-Cyclopropanedicarboxylic acid potassium salt and 2-(2,5-Dimethylphenoxy)acetic acid in lithium, sodium and potassium forms.
The heavier alkali metals are valued in specialist uses. Caesium salts help in palladium couplings and alkylations because the large cation improves solubility and reactivity, which chemists call the caesium effect. High-purity caesium and rubidium halides serve in scintillators, infrared optics and density gradient work. Lithium salts are central to battery and electrolyte research.
Many of these salts are hygroscopic, so anhydrous grades come in sealed containers, sometimes as beads to reduce surface area. Specify purity on a trace metals basis where low metal content matters. Each lot ships with a COA and SDS, from gram bottles to kilogram packs.
