Lipids form membranes, store energy and carry signals, and they are central to liposome and lipid nanoparticle formulation. This sub-category spans synthetic phospholipids, natural lipid extracts, fatty alcohols and esters, and plant oils. Products include 1,2-Dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DOPC) ≥99%, 1,2-Dimyristoyl-rac-glycero-3-phosphocholine, 3-sn-Lysophosphatidylethanolamine from egg yolk, 1-Octadecanol, Butyl oleate and almond and anise oils.
For formulation work, check acyl chain composition, phase transition temperature and oxidation state. Unsaturated lipids such as DOPC oxidise in air, so peroxide value and storage history matter. Natural oils vary with origin and processing, which shows in acid value and fatty acid profile. Ask for a recent lot COA if your formulation is sensitive to these figures.
Phospholipids are packed under inert gas and shipped cold. Oils and fatty alcohols travel at ambient temperature in sealed glass or HDPE. Every lot comes with a COA and SDS, and pharmacopoeial grade documentation is available where the grade exists.
Lipids & Fatty Acids: questions buyers ask
How should unsaturated phospholipids be stored?
What is the phase transition temperature and why does it matter?
Can I get natural oils with a fatty acid profile on the COA?
